Chadstone is a small, leafy, post-war suburb in the City of Monash — around 9,550 people, once known as “Carnegie North.” Its name comes from Chadstone Road, laid out in 1912–13 and most likely named for an English church linked to St Chad. Much of it was built in the 1950s in concrete prefabricated just down the road at Holmesglen.
