The City of Monash carries the name of Sir John Monash, the WWI commander and engineer the university is named for. Formed in 1994 from the old Oakleigh and Waverley councils, it’s now one of Victoria’s most populous municipalities — around 210,000 people across 16 suburbs, and one of the most diverse communities in the country.

Monash University — the campus with no station
The Clayton campus is Victoria’s largest — around 80,000 students, and no train station of its own until the Suburban Rail Loop arrives in 2035. That makes ME CABS the natural choice for the trips the campus bus loop can’t do: the 4am airport run at semester’s end, the international student landing with a year’s luggage, parents visiting from interstate or overseas, move-in and move-out day, and the safe late ride home after a night in the city.
Chadstone & the centres
Chadstone — “The Fashion Capital” — is the biggest shopping centre in the country, and a destination people come to from everywhere. ME CABS does the run with the arms full of bags and no circling for a park, plus The Glen at Glen Waverley, the famous Greek food strip at Oakleigh, and Brandon Park. Monash Medical Centre in Clayton is one of Victoria’s major hospitals, now joined by the new Victorian Heart Hospital and Jessie McPherson Private — a health precinct people travel to from right across the south-east.
