The “Centre of the Universe.”
Glen Waverley is the council seat of the City of Monash and its biggest suburb — around 42,600 people — and one of Melbourne’s great success stories. Its Chinese-Australian community fondly calls it the “Centre of the Universe” (宇宙中心) for its amenities, transport, weather and, above all, its schools. The name “Waverley” comes from Sir Walter Scott’s novels; the place was once plain old “Black Flat,” and even hosted Victoria’s very first McDonald’s.
It runs on three things: food (the Kingsway strip is some of Melbourne’s best Asian dining), education (Glen Waverley Secondary College and the Wesley College boarding campus draw families from across the city), and connection (a premium rail terminus, soon an SRL superhub). ME CABS is the calm, fixed-fare way to move through all of it.

~30 min
by train to the city
A great line for the commute. We do what it can’t.
Glen Waverley has one of the best rail set-ups in the south-east: a premium terminus station right by Kingsway, trains every 7–8 minutes in peak, about 30 minutes to the city — and a Suburban Rail Loop superhub on the way. For the daily city commute, it’s excellent. But even the best station can’t do the trips that matter most.

Dinner on Kingsway
Kingsway is one of Melbourne’s best Asian dining strips — dozens of restaurants and dessert bars running Cantonese, Hong Kong, Korean, Vietnamese, Malaysian, Japanese and Sri Lankan, open well into the night, plus the bubble-tea cafes the suburb is famous for. ME CABS is built for the night out: a group dropped right on Kingsway, collected when you’re done, one fixed fare, no one nominated to drive, no parking circles. People come for this from all over the city.
The Glen & Century City Walk
The Glen — 240-plus stores and a fresh food hall with a Mount Dandenong view — and the cinema-and-bowling Century City Walk make the everyday family day: a shop, a film, a meal, then everyone home in one car. A fixed fare there and back, door to the entrance.
The Clayton health precinct — a short run away.
Monash Medical Centre and the Victorian Heart Hospital in Clayton are a short run from Glen Waverley, with Waverley Private in Mount Waverley closer still. For appointments, day procedures, discharge pickups and visiting family, a booked, fixed-fare car removes the two hardest parts — timing and uncertainty.
ME CABS provides non-emergency patient and visitor transport — for emergencies always call 000.
Appointments & day surgery
On time, dropped at the right entrance.
Discharge
A reliable ride home when you can't drive after a procedure.
Visiting family
In and home again without the parking and the long walk.
Accessible vehicles
On request, for those who need them.
A genuine business district, not just a suburb.
Glen Waverley is a business hub in its own right: the Australian headquarters of companies like Toshiba, Ansell and NEC sit here, alongside the office towers around Kingsway and The Glen. ME CABS is built for it — airport runs and client and staff movements booked ahead, with Cabcharge accepted on every trip, alongside card and cash, a fixed fare shown before you book, and accessible vehicles on request.

Fixed fares

When getting there matters, the difference shows.
| When you want… | ME CABS | Rideshare app | Hail / rank taxi |
|---|---|---|---|
| A price you can trust | Fixed, shown before booking | Surges without warning | Metered — unknown till arrival |
| A car that turns up at 4am | Booked & assigned ahead | Depends who's online | Pot luck at the rank |
| Cabcharge accepted | Yes | No | Sometimes |
| A clean hybrid / EV | ~90% of the fleet | Whatever arrives | Whatever arrives |
| Maxi / group & mobility | Booked to suit | Limited | Limited |
The contrast is booked-driver certainty: a confirmed driver at a price locked before you travel, the runs others decline, Cabcharge handled properly — and a booking you can actually see and change afterwards.

Our fleet — about 9 in 10 hybrid & electric
Primarily Tesla and Lexus hybrids — cleaner, quieter and more comfortable than an older cab — plus wheelchair-accessible and mobility vehicles on request. A greener ride that doesn’t cost you certainty.
Greener than it looks.
For all its buzz, Glen Waverley is genuinely green — Jells Park, the Bushy Park Wetlands and the Dandenong Creek linear park run along its eastern edge. Our fleet fits that: about 90% hybrid and electric, so the standard ride is simply the cleaner, quieter one. No badge, no lecture — just the default.
A number, not a slogan — run your trip and see the real estimated emissions for a hybrid versus an older cab.
